Event Details
As a member of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE DC), you receive many valuable benefits that help to promote your professional and career development. These benefits include access to member's only services and resources, as well as discounts on our training events. Membership is open to any person who may qualify and is interested in, or engaged in, the practice or teaching of preventing, detecting or deterring fraud. Our Fiscal, Chapter, and Membership year spans from July 1 to June 30.
ACFE DC Membership Categories:
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) - Open to certified members of the ACFE interested in positioning themselves as leaders in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud. The CFE is a globally preferred credential that continues to gain momentum as a symbol of quality in the anti-fraud profession. The 2009-2010 Chapter dues are $40.
Associate - Open to non-certified individuals interested in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud and fraud-related activities. If you are a professional interested in learning more about fighting fraud, Associate membership with the ACFE provides you with the knowledge, resources and training you need. The 2009-2010 Chapter dues are $40.
Educator Associate - Open to non-certified individuals who are employed by an institution of higher learning, as an educator, as your primary means of employment. The 2009-2010 Chapter dues are $10.
Student Associate - Open to undergraduate students enrolled in 9 semester hours (or equivalent), or graduate students enrolled in 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in an accredited college or university. The 2009-2010 Chapter dues are $10.
Honorary - Open to individuals who furthered the mission of the ACFE DC. These individuals have contributed by providing instruction, chapter award recipients, etc. The 2009-2010 Chapter dues are complementary.

Welcome to the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) . The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), based in Austin, Texas, is an international organization whose mission is to reduce the incidence of white-collar crime and assist in the detection and deterrence of fraud. Since its inception in 1988, the ACFE is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with more than 50,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud world-wide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession.
The Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners is a professional organization dedicated to training professionals in the field and to educating the public about fraud. The chapter was incorporated in 1991 and is one of more than 100 chapters officially recognized by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. The primary mission of the Chapter is to promote fraud detection and deterrence through educational training programs. Chapter members provide investigative, auditing, and consulting services to law firms, business enterprises, governmental and regulatory agencies in the areas of litigation support, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, and fraud prevention.

Membership is open to Certified Fraud Examiners and Associate members of the ACFE. There is a 'Chapter affiliate' membership category for others with an interest in the field of fraud examination.
